Title: Uncanny
Rating: Explicit
Fandom: Sherlock (TV) AU
Characters/Pairings: Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade
Word Count: 86,796
Warnings: Graphic descriptions of violence
Summary: He'd read fairy tales when he was a kid, had read myths, heard snippets of folklore. Now and then he'd hear weird rumours on the streets of uncanny things that he'd dismissed as the drugged out ravings of hallucinating junkies, but now he was wondering what he'd missed, and if they really had seen things.

Greg Lestrade had always considered himself an ordinary bloke, not prone to flights of fantasy. When he is kidnapped from the streets of London and wakes in a dungeon, he must reevaluate everything he thought he knew about the world, and about himself.
Author's Notes: My thanks to the always amazing Random-Nexus, beta extraordinare, without whom, etc and anon.
Mod's Notes: Please message me if you can't for some reason read this on AO3 and I can post the actual chapters here on Brother_Mine, as long as it's okay with the author. :)

Characters/Pairings: John Watson/Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes

Disclaimer: Sherlock is not mine and no money is being made.
A/N: A short, mythical AU in which Mycroft and Sherlock vie for control of John's fate.

Excerpt: “I’m the older, wiser brother, Sherlock,” Mycroft warned, raising his chin and turning away.

The moonlight entering through the open flaps of the pavilion cast shadows over his face. The eyes were dark hollows, the round of the prominent brow ivory.

Hullo! I recently completed a series of one-shots that follow Mycroft and Sherlock from childhood to early adulthood (Mycroft POV, very much focused on his feelings of frustration but also intense protectiveness towards Sherlock) and this seems like exactly the place to share it!

You can find the whole series (only about 10k words total, across several fics) here:

Brothers, Bitter and Sweet

Or find the individual stories here:

Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Father Christmas

“I did the calculations,” Sherlock said, an incongruous statement in his piping child’s voice. “It doesn’t work. He’d have to visit a whole bunch of houses every single second. He’d have to travel faster than the speed of sound.”

The Truth Will Break Your Heart

Sherlock had been too intelligent for well-intentioned lies for years now. Mycroft realised he would have to be told the truth. (Warning: grief over Redbeard)

Shadow and Shade

“I didn’t need your help,” Sherlock sniffed, turning back to his object of study.

Mycroft sighed. “Yes, yes, I’m sure you didn’t."

Holly to the Ivy

It’s Christmas – Sherlock’s first Christmas home from uni – and neither Holmes brother needs anyone.

Definitely not.

(There's also a fifth and final one-shot I included as part of the same series, but it doesn't feature Mycroft, so I won't mention it here!)

Title: We're Sorry For Any Inconvenience
Author: saki101
Characters/Pairings: Mycroft Holmes, Gregory Lestrade
Rating: Between PG-13 & R-ish
Genre: pre-slash and rather fluffy
Word Count: ~10K
Disclaimer: Sherlock is not mine and no money is being made.
Summary: Months after The Fall, John doesn't return from a holiday. His friends and family don't report his absence to the police. Mycroft thinks Lestrade may know why. At least that's the ostensible reason for his visit to Lestade's office.
A/N: We're Sorry for Any Inconvenience may be read as a stand alone. Necropolis is a sequel. Both are part of a larger series, Other Experiments, although knowledge of OE is not essential to these stories.

On LJ

Excerpt: Lestrade considered the man standing in his office. He was sure that if Sherlock wanted his brother to know he was alive and well and where he and John were, Mycroft wouldn’t be suggesting a friendly chat over dinner. Mycroft gestured towards the door as Greg stood and rounded the desk. He knew it was a dangerous move to accept, but Sherlock wasn’t the only one who loved a challenge.

On AO3

Excerpt: “It’s not what I would have expected in a tomb.”
“No,” Mycroft said, stepping forward to stand next to Greg. “My…forebears had unusual views on many subjects.”

Title: Series: Out of the heart and into the darkness. Epilogue
Chapter 2: And pray, and sing…
Characters: Mycroft, Sherlock, John, Molly Hooper, Greg Lestrade, Mrs Hudson, OC’s
Warnings: sibling incest, angst, emotional hurt/comfort, rape recovery
Rating: NC17
Beta: many, many thanks to the fantastic frozen_delight. I can’t thank her enough for her help and advice. Any remaining mistakes are mine of course. Also lots of thanks to wellingtongoose for checking on medical facts
Word count: approx. 5,900
Summary: There is just one thing in the world Mycroft can’t handle, the crippling sense of having failed his little brother. How do other people deal with such situations? Their life, as far as Mycroft can see, is mostly one disruptive chaos of botched relationships, financial worries and housing problems, addled with the difficulties of employment and trying not to bungle the self-inflicted task of raising their children. Perhaps, a daily dose of inadequacy serves to make people immune to adversity? It would certainly explain the empty gazes Mycroft has often noticed flicking past the window of his car as he is being driven around London.
Thanks to: the wonderful stardust_made. Her writing induced me to come out here and try some of my own
Disclaimer: Sherlock and Mycroft belong to the BBC and Steve Moffat and Mark Gatiss. My profit is the joy I had in writing. Yours, I hope, the joy in reading

Title: Caring is not an Advantage
Status of work: complete
Characters: Mycroft, Sherlock, Anthea, Mummy, Redbeard, John, Mrs Hudson
Warnings: no warnings apply
Rating: pg13
Word count: approx. 16,400
Beta: The amazing stardust_made was so kind as to help me. She’s a wonderful writer and an incredibly kind and resourceful beta. Thanks to her this has become a much better story than it would have turned out to be otherwise.
Summary: “Fine.” A sharp click in his ear told Mycroft Sherlock had ended the call, robbing Mycroft of the chance to implore him to be careful. Slowly, he put the receiver back in place. Perhaps that was better, after all.
